We have been in business since 1994.
What is your primary product or service?
We provide quality veterinary medical, dental and surgical services.
How did you first become interested in your line of business? (if owner) - What is your background? (If owner or store manager)
Dr. Bill Freedman received his Bachelor of Science degree from Cornell University in 1989 and continued his veterinary education there, graduating in 1993. His training included externships at the Animal Medical Center and Angell Memorial Hospital. After gaining experience in local New Jersey hospitals, he purchased Animal General in 1998. Dr. Freedman belongs to the American Veterinary Medical Association, the North Jersey Metropolitan Veterinary Medical Association, the New Jersey Veterinary Medical Association, and the North Jersey Veterinary Medical Association. He is a USDA-certified veterinarian and is able to issue international health certificates. His interests include internal medicine and dentistry and he works closely with local animal welfare groups to provide care for the stray and feral animal population.
How do you differentiate yourself from other businesses in your category and area?
Animal General offers internal medicine consultations that are done by Dr. Suzanne May, who completed her internal medicine residency at the Animal Medical Center in New York City. She is currently the only board certified internal medicine specialist in a general practice in both Bergen and Hudson Counties. She is available for consultations and second opinions on all internal medicine cases and can perform on-site ultrasounds. Dr. May is also available to see your pet for general exams.

Monday through Thursday, 8 am to 8 pm, Friday, 8 am to 6 pm and Saturday 9 am to 1 pm.
